Enabling our teams to facilitate effective discovery workshops, our latest expert-lead bootcamp ensured we continue to deliver value throughout our projects
Bringing together our technical experts, as well as a mix of professionals operating within our clients’ business, discovery workshops are the first, but essential step, in identifying both the challenges and goals of a project. They create a common understanding across the project team and represent the first step in forging long-term, trust-based partnerships with our clients.
Aiming to scale our ability to facilitate discovery workshops with our clients in both regulated and non-regulated industries, our Discovery Bootcamp programme ensures an effective knowledge transfer, as well as a high-quality standard in delivering them.
Alex Ecobici, Product Design Office Lead
One of the biggest benefits of Discovery Bootcamp is strategic alignment between our team, our clients and their goals. The programme trains a higher number of our colleagues in understanding and applying the best practices we’ve defined in Accesa and RaRo’s Discovery Workshop Framework, and in using purpose-built collaboration tools. This means that every client will enjoy the same exciting experience and excellent results delivered whenever they partner with us. Scaling up this know-how supports our community’s growth expectation and is strategically aligned with our company’s objectives.
From the foundations and facilitation of design thinking to strategy analysis and problem framing, as well as presentation skills, the 5-month, self-paced learning journey was led by experts from the Design Thinkers Academy and our own experienced internal trainers, Raluca Piteiu-Apostol, Product Consultant, and Claudia Mascas, UX/UI Design Consultant.

It was quite a journey. We started by learning about the tools used in discovery workshops, and when to use them, then we polished our facilitation skills and learned how to prepare a workshop. The sessions were interactive and enjoyable! The accumulated knowledge and insights helped me better understand how to approach a workshop, assess the need, and what combination of tools to use to best reach the desired outcome.
The programme also included a practical assessment meant to encourage our colleagues to apply their new skills and receive on-the-spot feedback from trainers, ensuring that they meet Accesa’s delivery standards and best practices.

We had some really nice final presentations from our colleagues who already applied what they learned in their projects. Some deep-dived into the pre-workshop phase and covered a modernisation of a legacy banking system; others held discovery workshops. One of our colleagues, for example, delivered a workshop for a user-tested mobile app prototype created for a client in the automotive industry. Another designed and held a session with their project team to improve the quality of delivery overall.I’m proud of the first generation of Discovery Bootcamp graduates, a programme which we designed together with my colleague, Claudia Mascas. Congratulations to all the participants!
In the Accesa and RaRo community, learning is a life-long journey and a shared responsibility between our organisation and our people. We consistently develop tailored technical and non-technical learning programmes that support the growth of our colleagues, nurture collaboration in our team, and build trust throughout our partnerships.
